Vivek Oberoi as KAAL

Vivek Oberoi plays the lead role as an antagonist (Kaal) in the movie Krrish 3. Vivek Oberoi has worked very hard for the film. And is very keen and enthusiastic about his role as Kaal. The costume designed for Vivek Oberoi is about 28 kgs weight and is the most costly costume of the entire movie. And the costliest costume Vivek has ever worn.  The 36 year old actor had to wear the metal suit and shoot for some of his finest scenes in the movie in scorching heat.

Kaal (Vivek Oberoi), an evil genius is building a dark force to spread fear, death and destruction among the people of the world.  He is using the army of mutants created by himself.

The actor says that it was his good luck that he got a chance to work with the Roshan’s in one of their movie sequels and says that it is Rakesh Roshan’s genius that he was able to create the character of Kaal and says that with Rakesh Roshan as the director you can play any character even though a negative one with great ease.

Kangana Ranaut as KAYA

Kangana Ranaut plays the role of mutant Kaya in the movie Krrish 3. This her first movie as a negative role and she is very excited about it. She had to lose about five kilograms of weight to get into the dress designed by Gavin Miguel and prepared by lady gaga’s tailor, which is made from a plastic like material  from US. Her hair style designed is heavy structured and tail like.  It took forty-five days to prepare Kangana’s costume and it takes almost two hours for her to get into the costume. She had to apply a special type of oil to get into the costume. The make up also took about an hour.

Both Kangana and Vivek performed their fight scenes on their own. Kangana ever undertook special martial-arts training for her role as Kaya.

Krrish 3 Makeup : Make Over of Real life Hrithik Roshan to Rohit (Krrish 3), Spent 4.5 Hours For Makeup

An Actor has to portray a lot of different roles in his life in order to make his acting versatile and in order to entertain people.  And in order to transform himself from the real life persona of what he is to the character of the movie of the fantasy world he has to apply a lot of makeup. He or she has to transform themselves in such a way that the public should feel that the role playing are real life characters. In short he has to bring the character to life. In the process of putting life into the imaginary role, an actor has to apply a lot of make up and transform himself.  Applying makeup is the most essential part of an actor’s life.

Hrithik Roshan had to do a lot of hard work and had to take a lot of pain in order to transform himself from real life Hrithik to the role of Rohit (Krrish’s father ) in Krrish 3. His makeup took about four to four and a half hours. Completing and promoting an action packed super- hero movie can be very painful after going through a complicated brain surgery. But Hrithik Roshan is very strong. Inspite of all these difficulties, he portrayed the role. After the surgery for the first time when he came in the makeup room, he was heard talking to the mirror that he has occasional headaches, but on the whole he is very happy and is very excited to unveil the first look of Krrish 3.

In the movie Krrish 3 Hrithik Roshan is playing three strikingly different roles of a father, a son and of a super-hero.  For him the Rohit look was most difficult to get. Since Krrish 3 was released in 2003, they needed the character to look fairly aged enough. He spent nearly four and a half hours to get ready for this role. He spent a lot of time with the makeup and prosthetic expert Mike Stringer (best known for Lord of the Rings Trilogy).  He was specially flown in for two schedules to do make up and prosthetic.

Rohit’s character had to maintain the childlike qualities and the helping nature and also he had to get the fatherly look. Mike Stringer  sat for multiple screenings of Koi Mil Gaya and then he sat with Hrithik to decide his look for Rohit’s character.  They tried out several looks before they decided to go for the final call. The makeup and the prosthetics had to be finished on the set, so Hrithik had to report five hours in advance on the set.  As for the look of Krishna (Rohit’s Son) they did not need to do any makeup. The natural look of Hrithik Roshan was fine for it. 

For the character of Krrish the mask is slightly enhanced from the original one and did not need a lot of make up.  Hrithik Roshan had to modulate his voice in three different styles befitting the three different characters he is playing.

He does total 5 sets of Dumbell Bench press (2 work out sets and 3 warm up sets), 2 sets of inclined dumbbell flies. 4 sets of underhand cable pulls (3 working sets and 1 warm up set), bent over Barbell rows ( 3 working sets and 1 warm up set) and 3 sets of back extensions, 3 sets of seated calf raise and 3 sets of standing calf raise. On Tuesday he does exercise for his legs. He does Leg Press 8 sets, Seated leg tucks 5 sets, Extensions 4 sets, lying leg curls 5 sets, Squats 5 sets. On Wednesday he takes a break from exercise. On Thursday he does shoulders, calves and abs exercise. He does Marble Military press 5 sets, side lateral raise 4 sets, 3 sets of uprise barbell row of 7 reps, 7 sets of reverse flies of 12 reps, 3 sets of weighted sit ups of 20 reps, 3 sets of seated calf raise of 20 reps, 3 sets of standing calf raise of 20 reps. On Friday he does exercise for his arms.  He does 2 sets of straight arm dumbbell pulls, 3 sets of cable rep tricep overhead extensions, 3 sets of cable lying tricep extensions, 3 sets of standing tricep extensions, 7 sets of straight arm pulls, 5 sets of concentrated curls, 5 sets of dumbbell bicep curls and 3 sets of standard bicep cable curls.
