Hrithik Roshan went through a successful brain surgery on 7th of July

Hrithik Roshan, who is busy filming and promoting his upcoming movie Krrish 3 had to take a break from the movie shooting and promotion in order to go through a brain surgery to remove a minor clot from the brain.

While filming for his other movie Bang Bang, Hrithik Roshan had to jump from a 30 feet height into a water body. While doing the stunt himself, he hit his head and sustained the injury. Soon after the accident he started having headaches.  It was only after that when a CT scan and an MRI were performed on Friday that a clot was detected between the surface of the brain and it’s tough covering called the durameter. This condition is called subacute subdural haemotama. Till a month ago the CT scan did not reveal any clot. The actor was rushed to Hinduja Hospital late on Saturday when he started feeling weakness in his right arm.

Subdural Haemotoma are usually caused by head injuries in which small veins of the brain stretch and tear. The blood collected due to the injury usually draws water due to osmosis and expands, which in turn compresses the brain tissue and causes headache and numbness. On a CT scan subdural haemotomas are usually crescent shaped with a concave surface away from the skull.

Hrithik went through a procedure that involved drilling a small hole in the brain to remove the clot. The procedure lasted an hour and a half long. Dr. B. K. Mishra was the consulting neurosurgeon and Hrithik’s Doctor. The hospital said that the actor is fine now and will be released from the hospital within three to four days, but will have to take a month’s rest.

Before going for the Brain surgery the actor said that everyone creates a joyous life with the power of the brain. But, this time it enabled him to look inside the function of the brain and realize it’s importance. Brain gives us the power to see, hear, feel, taste and smell and also help conquer our fears and develop confidence within ourselves. He said that he will go through the surgery with the power of recovering soon and come out a more stronger and better person.
